The Pot Calling The Kettle White

There is so much wrong with this story, I'm not sure where to begin. Eduardo V. Genao a principle of a magnet school in Hartford has been accused of changing the racial designations of at least six biracial students to conform with state guidelines. Apparently there are not enough white students at his Sport & Medical Sciences Academy so he created some by changing the races on student records, without the parent's consent. An anonymous letter accused Genao of asking students directly if he could make the change:
"Mr. Genao called our children into his office one at a time and spoke to each of them of how the school will get `millions of dollars' if the child would just let him change their ethnic background in the computer from minority to white," said the letter, which was sent to Mayor Eddie A. Perez, the city school board and state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. "He did not call the parents to get permission. He thought he could just change these facts with the permission of 14 and 15 year old children."

What the hell was he thinking? That 14 and 15 year olds are particularly apt at keeping racial skulldudgery on the Q.T.?

let me share with you my employer's wonderful system of race identification. During new employee Orientation people are asked to fill out a data sheet on ethnicity. Many, justifiably, are not appreicative of the fact that there is no category for someone of mixed race. If someone refuses to fill out the form the HR person is told to choose their race for them - ya know, their best guess!!
AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!! dolittle

I am doing a paper on what happened at this school...There is so much that bothers me about Eduardo Genao-that I do not know where to start-
First- That he called students down without parental permission
Second- That teachers helped identify these students- great- the teachers must be spineless jellyfish
Third- Now that the students have identified themselves as being white- are they allowed to apply for minority scholarships
Fourth- Eduardo Genao was not fired- so I guess that they are calling the parents and the students liars....

Talking about "what in the hell was he thinking?" Where in the hell was the NAACP? Sleeping in Hartford? Holding a party somewhere? I just read this and I could just get sick...and they left him at his desk?
