The Mark Foley Saga Continues

I thought I might share my thoughts on the ongoing Mark Foley kerkuffle in two hundred words or less. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care. I just don’t care.

If it was a Democrat, the Right would be screaming. Especially if they claimed alcholism as defense. Giving alcholics a bad name. I love how they try to bring up Clinton and a 22 year old intern and say its the same thing. John StewartDaily Show's clips with Republican leadership passing the buck labled by Stewart as the new NPR show, "Wait, Wait, Don't Blame Me."

Dexter give it up already.

Gerry Studds (D-MA) had sex with a 17-year-old male page. In 1983, he was reprimanded. Republicans wanted to censure him. But 79 Dems voted against upgrading the condemnation. The GOP wants you to know that some in the Democratic Party, in 1983, apparently did not find Studds's conduct to be deserving of a full censure, which carries significant penalties.

And then there’s liberal blogger David Corn who has a list of GOP gay staff members. http://www.davidcorn.com/archives/2006/10/the_list_of_gay.php

Where is your outrage Dexter? I should become a liberal. That way I could jettison all principles when convenient. Feminism when my president gets blown by a 22 year intern in the oval office, privacy and gay rights when a drunken GOP congressman gets caught sending sexually suggestive e-messages. This issue will be a loser for the dems long term, mark my words.

You're right, Dexter. If it was a Democrat the right would be screaming because if it was a Democrat, he wouldn't have resigned. But because it's a Republican he's gone and the focus shifts to midterm elections and how much political mileage can the Dems gain from this.

It's a good thing Foley came along. The Dems needed something to flesh out their rather thin set of campaign issues.

Counterfactual/hypotherical arguements of what Dems would have done aside...I think the Right prefers to have the focus on Foley instead of Iraq, the economy, or Bush. I am more concerned that both parties have not focused on the school shootings of late and guns instead of on Foley. The problem with the Dems is not the issues its the current lack of leadership.
