On The Wealth of Nations by P. J. O'Rourke

P.J. O'Rourke is normally funnier than a nun with Tourette's syndrome, but not here. I don't know why, maybe weighty economic theory isn't all that funny. Still it's somewhat of a good read if you don't want to read the original and who does.

In a way I hate reading books about uber geniuses. Mozart as a five year old mastered musical concepts I struggle to comprehend as an adult. Adam Smith sitting around cogitating on economic theory thinks of pretty much everything you need to know about economics 250 years before everybody else. Pity it takes him 1200 plus pages to tell you, but still.
