Those Screechy Democrats


If Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden interrogated the herpes virus one might root for herpes. What a bunch of preening, self important, pointy headed, pus filled windbags!
I'd love it if just once the SCOTUS nominee would ask Fat Teddy about his lapses in judgement, i.e. "Eso es una pregunta interesante sobre mi tiempo en Princeton senador Asno Gordo, ¿Por qué usted salió de Harvard?" But of course Kennedy has no idea what was just asked of him because he was tossed out of Harvard for cheating on a Spanish exam.
Barring a dead woman or live boy type of scandal I think the Alito appointment is a done deal. As it should be. No matter what you think of who appointed him or how Alito might decide on any given issue, the man is eminently qualified and has in my estimation a good judicial temperament. For those of you who think that the world is ending, console yourself that Hillary will appoint lots of lefty judges - if she gets elected.

Oh poor Saint Bill, marries a frigid shrew and when he gets some 21 year old plumper to give him a Lewinsky, then lies about under oath, those prudish Republicans nail him for perjury and get him disbarred. Nice try. How about an example of egregious Republican behavior during the Bader-Ginsberg confirmation or any other liberal supreme court nomination? I'll save you the trouble of googling it, there was none. Nothing on the scale of Kennedy who was tossed out of Harvard for cheating grilling Alito for alleged misdeeds while at Princeton. There are plenty of jerks on both side of the isle, but you do your party a disservice by tossing up this Ken Starr nonsense as some half assed defense of the indefensible.

Sen. Kennedy is not up for a confirmation hearing, Alito is. IF the situation were reveresed I suspect the questions and methods would be the same. The Starr hearings were hardly about justice. It was about the personal glorification of Starr an egomaniacal oppurtunist. I'll bet he is cashing in now.

what does Ken Starr have to do with this? As an example of right a wing nut job? Well maybe. Does that excuse Kennedy's behavior and hypocracy?
You suspect the methods and questions would be the same, but were they during any Clinton supreme court appointee's confirmation? What did you find out?

I rememeber nothing about the Breyer hearings and I keep getting Bader-Ginsberg's hearings confused with the plot of The Contender. Was it her or Joan Allen's character that pulled a train in college? Starr has exactly the same relevance to the ALito hearings as Kennedy's past does. None. Kennedy a thug? For whom? Brooks Brothers? Hasty Puddding? The esteemed Senator from Mass. is hardly on par with the demagogues from the right wing would sound off just as much if the situation were reversed say if a brilliant legal mind who happened to smoke some weed was demonized as unfit for the court.

If as you say "Starr has exactly the same relevance to the ALito hearings as Kennedy's past does. None." Why did YOU bring Starr up? Could it be that Starr is the only Republican bad actor you can think of? Here I’ll give you some real ones: Delay, Lott, Barr, and Cunningham, enjoy.
When discussing hypocrisy one normally compares the words to the actions of a given person, by this measure Ted Kennedy is a fat assed bloody frickin hypocrite. The only question that remains is why you are lodged so firmly in the tank for this man. I assure you, he has left far more useful and better looking people than you languishing unconscious in the bottom of a Pontiac as it fills with cold brackish water. I know. I know. Cheating at Harvard and leaving a wounded acquaintance to die at Chappaquiddick was soooo long ago, why can’t I just move on? Well I don’t want to. Levin and Zaphod are right, the man’s tactics are McCarthyesque and go unchallenged. If you agree with the man politically that’s one thing, say so and move on, but don’t carry his water there’s far too much and eventually he will be nailed for it.

I will never believe that Kennedy is demonstrably worse for the country than McCarthy. Why not just compare him to Hitler and end the arguement there?

Ah Hitler, the penultimate refuge for the leftwing scoundrel, where would you be without him? I notice you have never bothered to answer any of the questions put to you, but since you will never be persuaded to the ineluctable truth, I’ll content myself with answering your question. The reason I wouldn’t compare Kennedy to Hitler, other than an aversion to bomb throwing, is that the two men are nothing alike. Hitler was a skinny Austrian megalomaniac drug addict, Kennedy and McCarthy are both fat Irish drunks – you know the type, who ruin the careers of others by casting unfounded aspersions upon their reputation. The main difference between the two was that there were people back in McCarthy’s time that had the grapes to call him on his nonsense. Today as you so aptly prove Kennedy can say and do whatever the hell he pleases and lefty tankers carry his water for him. Mark my words, one day Kennedy’s true legacy will be revealed and like him and his sclerotic nose it won’t be pretty.

Half of which sounds like it is coming true. Was Bork ever blacklisted from ever working in his field like those who refused to name names in the McCarthy hearings and hounded by FBI? Or did he continue to practice in his field andgo on to become a best selling auhor, highly paid converative spokesperson and law school lecturer.

Don’t worry Chicken Little, I don’t expect you to answer any of these questions – you never do, especially when the answers tend to disprove your alarm of the constitution’s early demise. Enough of this nonsense.
Robert Bork was eminently qualified to be a Supreme Court justice and he was Borked by Fat Teddy and his ilk. You cite Bork’s further success, presumably, as evidence that Kennedy did him no serious harm. Pish frickin posh. If you’re a lawyer like Bork, you want to become a judge, if you’re a judge like Bork you want to sit on the Supreme Court. Bork was thwarted from his life’s ambition due to his political beliefs. The senate has a duty to “advise and consent” not to vet for political correctness. Moreover the republic as whole lost as a great legal mind was prevented from presiding on the highest court in the land.

1) Abortion is still de jurelegal but de facto more restricted and there are fewer doctors and rural areas in which they are available.

2) Don't know, I am not an African-American. post katrina would seem to suggest not.Death penalty still enforced in a racially disproportionate manner.

4) Topeka, Kansas in 1999 banned evolution from the science curriclum. In 2004,the state of georgia considered banning the world evolution because it was a buzzword.

2. A hurricane hits a city that’s predominantly black and liberal handwringers bemoan the disproportionate effect on blacks. Got math? If you look at who actually died during the hurricane and it’s aftermath whites died in disproportionate numbers, the same is true in Iraq and Afghanistan where whites and Hispanics, especially Mexican Americans, make up the bulk casualties even though blacks make up the majority of the Army.

Still legal but completely unobtainable in some parts of the country and severely under attack.

Death penalty application was what i was referring to as disproportionate.

Which ever why you parse it Topeka at one time prohibited the teaching of evolution post Bork hearings. Thanks to the judge in PA at least 'intell design' won't be taught.
